My Open Eye

Her album “My Open Eye”
The over-whelming response to Joanna’s self-penned second album My Open Eye has taken her into a different phase in her career. With new management, meetings at record companies, some serious press (Mojo:- “beauty and broken glass all at once”), some serious gigs – like supporting Jamie Cullum and Nerina Pallot in front of an audience of 10,000 at Audley End, airplay on Radio 2, and seeing her album on sale in supermarkets; Joanna’s feet have hardly touched the ground!

She dedicates “My Open Eye” to her family – especially her husband Charlie and four-year-old daughter Drousha. ‘She’s given me so much – not least she’s taught me to value my time. The whole album has been a kind of therapy – finding “me” again and addressing all my relationships through the eyes of a mother.”
The future...

Joanna has just released Moving Shadows on the 33 Jazz label.  It's an album mixing classic ‘60s pop (Alfie, A Taste of Honey, Yesterday) with jazz standards (The Midnight Sun, When I Fall In Love, Nature Boy).  The simple trio line-up features collaborators bassist Julie Walkington and drummer Charlie Price.

Now Joanna’s clearer than ever before about what she wants; time to write, time to record ‘I’ve got so many songs that I just need to be let loose on the world!’, and loads of gigs ‘where people come, ready to listen…wanting to go on a journey, ready to use their minds and brave enough to try and get into mine!’

What the media’s been saying...

“Definitely worth seeking this one out” Michael Parkinson

“Melody, mystery and bite” Mojo

“Eden writes sharp-witted, well crafter songs and sings them sweetly and with conviction” London Evening Standard
